Anitra Elmore is a writer, teacher, and editor with a mission to amplify the truth of scripture while empowering people to lead purpose-filled lives.

Anitra holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in elementary education. Over the past 30 years, she has self-published books, run three successful blogs, developed engaging digital content, and contributed to several Bible studies. Her work is marked by a passion for practical discipleship, and she is committed to helping believers learn to abide in Jesus and embrace the life He offers.

Anitra is an engaging and authentic speaker with experience teaching diverse groups of believers. She especially enjoys ministering to women and has contributed to two women’s devotionals published by the women’s ministry of King’s Park International Church. She also partners with her husband, Darold, to teach and coach married couples within their local church and through their coaching business.

When she is not writing or teaching, Anitra is editing content as the owner of Orchard Scribe. There, she serves Christian writers, helping them refine and design the messages they’ve been called to share.

Anitra’s latest publication is a small-group prayer guide called Warrior Parents, in which she walks alongside parents who are facing difficult times with their children. Her practical teaching and conversational writing style make this resource easy to engage with and a steady source of encouragement for parents facing hard seasons.

In her downtime, you’ll find her giggling with friends, binge-watching detective shows from the early 2000s, completing jigsaw puzzles, and being the loudest lacrosse mom in the stands. She’s also an avid Cricut-crafter and has all the personalized shirts, mugs, and journals to prove it.

Anitra and her husband serve their local church as deacons and teachers. The two Chicago natives have been married for 31 years and currently live in Cary, NC, with their two young adult children.
